Have you ever heard them whispering?     I try to get near enough to hear them....They call out to me....        I can't quite make out their words....  One step closer...     Pure white foam brushes my ankles...   Two steps closer...  I can make out a few words as the water splashes my knees...    Three....Four...Five...    I've got to hear, I must know what they're saying... Ten steps...Fifteen steps...    And then panic; the wave is roaring in my ears, it's upon me, and I can't get away...      And for that split second, as the icy cold fingers make a grab for me, I can understand them.     "Come to us", they say;
